Skillet Cookies
Ingredients
For the Cookie Dough:
- 100g unsalted butter (soft at room temperature)
- ½ cup raw sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ tsp baking soda
- 1¾ cups flour
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chocolate chunks
For the Chocolate Sauce:
- 2 tbsp chocolate (chopped or chips)
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- A small piece of butter
- A few drops of vanilla extract
Instructions
Step 1: Make the Cookie Dough
- In a bowl, mix butter, raw sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add egg and vanilla essence and mix well.
- Sift in flour, salt, and baking soda, then mix until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks and mix until evenly distributed.
Step 2: Bake in the Skillet
- Grease an 8-inch (20 cm) cast iron skillet with butter or oil.
- Spread half of the cookie dough evenly in the skillet. (Freeze the remaining dough for later use. Or use a bigger skillet to bake the whole dough)
- Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (350°F) for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges.
Step 3: Prepare the Chocolate Sauce
- In a microwave-safe bowl, add chocolate and milk.
- Heat for 30–40 seconds or until the milk starts to boil.
- Let sit for a minute to allow the chocolate to melt.
- Stir in cocoa powder, a small piece of butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
Step 4: Serve
- Serve the warm skillet cookie with a scoop of ice cream and drizzle with chocolate sauce.
- Enjoy straight from the skillet for a gooey, indulgent treat!
Notes:
- If using a larger skillet, bake time may vary slightly.
- You can add nuts, caramel, or a sprinkle of sea salt for extra flavor.
- The frozen cookie dough can be used later for another skillet cookie or baked into regular cookies!
