Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chili Garlic Butter

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Place the whole garlic head on a piece of aluminum foil. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then wrap tightly.
  3. Roast for 20–30 minutes or until soft. Let it cool slightly. ( I Usually do this while baking other dishes)
  4. Squeeze out the softened garlic into a bowl.
  5. Mix with soft butter, chili flakes, paprika/ chilli powder and parsley/coriander until smooth. ( Can be prepared ahead and refrigerate)

Step 2: Prepare the Bread

For Brioche Bread:

  1. Take a brioche slice and press the center with a spoon or pestle to create a slight indentation.
  2. Spread a generous layer of chili garlic butter over the bread.
  3. Place a cheese slice on top.
  4. Crack an egg into the dent made in the bread.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the egg whites.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven or air fryer at 180°C for 15 minutes or until the egg is set.

For Regular Bread:

  1. Take two slices of bread.
  2. Cut the center out of one slice, keeping the edges intact.
  3. Spread chili garlic butter on the uncut slice and place a cheese slice on top.
  4. Place the cut-out slice over it, creating a frame.
  5. Crack an egg into the hole and sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the egg whites.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven or air fryer at 180°C for 10–15 minutes or until the egg is cooked to your liking.

Step 3: Make Garlic Bread (Using the Cut-Out Piece)

  1. Take the cut-out bread piece from the regular bread.
  2. Spread a layer of chili garlic butter on top.
  3. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over it.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven or air fryer at 180°C for 5–7 minutes, or until crispy and golden.
