Apple Puffs

Here’s a refined version of your apple pie filling recipe with better balance and clarity:

Apple Pie Filling

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
  • 2-3 tbsp brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar (optional, based on apple sweetness)
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan Add chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, cornstarch, butter and granulated sugar if using. Stir well.
  2. Cover and cook on low-medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples soften and release juices.
  3. Continue cooking for 1-2 minutes until the filling thickens and looks glossy.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before filling the puff pastry.

To Use in Puff Pastry:

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • Fill the pastry with cooled apple mixture, seal edges, brush with milk or egg wash and bake until golden brown (about 15-20 minutes, depending on pastry thickness).
