  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 80-100 ml (approx. ⅓ cup) lukewarm milk or water (plus 1–2 tbsp more if needed)

  • 1 tsp active dry yeast

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Garlic Butter

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1½–2 tbsp minced garlic

  • Pinch of salt

  • Chilli flakes, to taste

  • Paprika, to taste

  • Oregano or marjoram, to taste

  • Dried basil to taste.

  • Finely chopped parsley, to taste

For the Filling

  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • Finely chopped olives (optional)

  • Finely chopped pickled jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough

  1. In a small bowl, proof the yeast by mixing it with lukewarm milk or water. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.

  3. Add the proofed yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour. Mix and knead into a firm dough. Add extra milk/water if needed.

  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

2. Make the Garlic Butter

  1. In a bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, salt, chilli flakes, paprika, oregano (or marjoram), and chopped parsley.

  2. Set aside. Refrigerate for few minutes so it'll be soft and spreadable.

3. Assemble the Garlic Bread

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).

  2. Roll out the risen dough into a large circle on a floured surface.

  3. Spread the garlic butter generously over the surface, leaving the edges clean for easier sealing.

  4. Reserve some garlic butter for brushing on top of the bread.

  5. Add the grated mozzarella cheese and optional fillings (olives and jalapeños).

  6. Fold the dough over to form a semi-circle and seal the edges tightly.or make them in desired shape.

  7. Transfer to a baking tray. Brush the top with the reserved garlic butter.

  8. Sprinkle extra mozzarella and optional toppings over the top.

4. Bake

  1. Bake in the preheated oven or air fryer for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown.

  2. Once baked, if there's melted butter in the tray, tilt it slightly to let the butter soak into the hot bread for extra flavor.

  3. Add a final layer of mozzarella on top and return to the oven for a few more minutes until the cheese is melted and stretchy.( For extra cheesiness)

Serve with pasta, soup or enjoy as a snack with a cup of chai.
