Dream Cake

I used Lady Finger biscuits dipped in chocolate milk instead of cake here.

This is how I made the trending dream cake.

In a rectangular glass bowl layered Lady Finger biscuit dipped in chocolate milk, then a layer of homemade chocolate pudding, layer of chocolate ganache with hazelnuts, then a thin chocolate layer and coco powder.

Recipe:

1st Layer - Cake Layer

Ingredients

  • Lady Finger Biscuits
  • Chocolate milk.

Directions

  • Dip the Lady finger biscuits in chocolate milk and layer in the bowl.

Layer 2 - Chocolate Pudding Layer

Ingredients

  • 750 ml Milk
  • 4 Tablespoon Custard Powder
  • 4-5 Tablespoon Sugar ( adjust according to taste)
  • 150g Chopped Chocolate.
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • Pinch salt ( optional)
  • A Teaspoon instant coffee (optional)
  • A Teaspoon coco powder (optional)

Directions

  • Mix  custard powder with little milk and Sugar.
  • Bring the rest of the milk to boil.
  • Once mix start boiling add the custard slurry and mix well and stir and cook till it thickens.
  • Turn off the flame.
  • Add in vanilla essence, butter, salt , coco powder, instant coffee and chopped chocolate.
  • Wait for a minute or 2 for the chocolate to melt.
  • Mix well.
  • Strain and Pour on top of the lady finger layer and let it set in the fridge.

 I let it set overnight

3rd Layer- Chocolate ganache with hazelnut.

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Chopped Chocolate
  • ½ Cup Thick cream
  • 1 Teaspoon butter
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 100g Hazelnut crushed (approximately)

Directions

  • Add Chopped chocolate and thick cream in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Microwave on high for 30-40 seconds or till the cream starts to boil.
  • Wait for a minute, add in butter, vanilla and mix well without any lumps.
  • Add in crushed hazelnuts and mix well.
  • Pour on top of the chocolate pudding layer once it has cool down for few minutes.

Ganache must be a little warm so that it'll be easier to pour and spread. But it  shouldn't be too hot that it'll melt the pudding layer and everything gets mixed up.

Refrigerate at least for an hour for the ganache to set before melting the chocolate for the next layer.

To make ganache without microwave.

  • In a heat proof bowl add chopped chocolate, butter and vanilla essence.
  • In a saucepan add cream and heat.
  • When it starts to boil, turn off the flame and pour the cream on top of the chopped chocolate in the bowl.
  • Wait for a minute or 2 for the chocolate to melt, mix well.

4th Layer - Chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 100g Chocolate chopped (approximately) depends on the size of the bowl.

 Directions

  • In a microwave safe bowl add chopped chocolate and microwave for 30s and mix.
  • If it is not melted, keep it for 30s more and mix well.
  • Pour on top of ganache layer and spread.

It should be a very thin layer.

Make sure ganache is set and cold before pouring melted chocolate, spread the chocolate quickly as it get set pretty quickly.

To melt chocolate without microwave, use double boiler method.

Layer 5 - Coco Powder.

Once the chocolate is set sprinkle coco powder on top using a sieve.
