Moist Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese and Chocolate Ganache

Moist Chocolate Cake with Cream cheese frosting and Chocolate Ganache served in a Pudding Bowl.


One of my family's favourites.


I prefer serving the cakes in pudding bowls as it is easier and less messy without compromising the taste.


Here I used the same bowl to bake the cake and serve it.



Recipe


For the cake

Grease 20cm*20cm ( 8" x 8") square oven proof dish.

Preheat the oven at 200°C

Ingredients 

  • 1 Cup whole wheat All purpose flour @kfmkuwait
  • 1 Cup raw sugar
  • 1/3 Cup + 1 Tbspn Coco powder
  • 3/4 Tspn Baking powder
  • 3/4 Tspn Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Tspn salt
  • 1/2 Tspn instant coffee


  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 Cup oil
  • 1 Tspn vanilla essence
  • 1/2 Cup milk (or buttermilk /laban)
  • 1/2 Cup Boiling hot water

Directions

  • Sift flour, coco powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt.
  • Add raw sugar and mix well.
  • Add in egg, oil, vanilla essence and milk.
  • Mix well till combined.
  • Add in instant coffee and hot water and mix till combined.
  • Pour into the pan and bake at 190°C for 30- 35 min. Or till done.
>Ie. Tooth pich inserted comes out clean.

>If using a hand beater, mix on lowest speed and don't over mix.

>Batter will be a bit loose.

>Allow it to cool on for few minute,Before taking out and cool completely on a wire rack.( To prevent cracking)

>It'll be a very soft cake .



For cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients 

  • 200 ml Whipping cream 
  • 4-5 tbspn Condensed milk ( according to taste)
  • 2 square cream cheese at room temperature 
  • 125 ml thick cream.
  • 1-2 Tspn Vanilla essence
Directions

Whip the whipping cream with 2 tbspn condensed milk and a tspn of vanilla essence.

  • In a Separate bowl mix cream cheese with 2 tbspn condensed milk and vanilla essence. 
  • Add in thick cream and mix well.
  • Fold in the whipping cream.

>Save some whipped cream for decoration ( bit less than half)



Chocolate Ganache

Ingredients 

  • 1/2 chopped chocolate
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • A piece of butter
  • Vanilla essence.

Directions

  • Add chocolate, cream in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Microwave for 30sec. Or till cream starts to boil. 
  • Add in cream and vanilla.
  • Wait a minute. Before mixing well.


Assembling

  • Cut the cake into 2 halves ( horizontally)
  • Place 1 half in the bowl.
  • Spread cream cheese frosting.
  • Place the other half on top
  • Spread the cream cheese frosting.
  • Pour the ganache on top.
  • Decorate.
