Mahalabia

Recipe:

(4 servings)

1.5 Cup Milk

3 Tbsp Cornstarch

3-4 Tbsp Sugar

125ml Thick cream

Pinch salt

Few saffron strands

1/2 - 1 Tbsp Rosewater

1/4-1/2 Tbsp Orange Blossom water

Rose syrup, nuts and shredded coconut toasted in butter/ghee for garnish

Mix saffron with orange blossom water and rosewater and keep aside.

In a saucepan add milk, cornstarch, sugar and mix well.
Stir and cook till it starts to thicken.

Once its thickened stir well and cook for a minute before turning off the flame.

Add in saffron soaked in orange, rose water, pinch salt and cream and mix well.

In serving glasses add the custard, top it with rose syrup, toasted coconut and nuts.
